| "Enlarge My Territory" In 1 Chronicles 4:10, Jabez prayed, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory." We know that prayer was a plea for God's will to be done in Jabez's life, and that God would make Jabez's life count for the Kingdom. Similarly, that is our prayer for Life Fellowship Community Church. We have determined that in order to continue to grow, and remain effective as a church for generations to come, we must ask God to lead us in "enlarging our territory." Therefore we are believing that God will help us to acquire 5-7 acres of land (if not 10) in our community, on which we will build a community worship center by the year 2020. (If it is the Lord's will). It is our dream to build a community worship center that will include: a 250-300 seat auditorium, a state of the art children's center, educational and recreational facilities To facilitate this dream, we have established the "2020 Vision" fund. Anyone who has experienced God's abundant blessings, and would like to give a freewill offering of thanks to the Lord, (separate from their tithe or missions' faith promise), may contribute to this fund. Current fund level: $20,245.59 (11/05/07) Creativity in giving: It might be from a piece of land you sell... It might be from an inheritance you receive... It might be from a raise, bonus, or promotion... You might buy a new car and not need the trade-value of your old car... You might want to write the 2020 Vision fund into your will... (or life insurance policy or other estate planning)... Some people prefer to use a tool called a charitable remainder trust as a way to avoid some taxes and bless their favorite charity... The point is to give, from your abundant blessings, a freewill offering of thanks, and sow a seed in spiritual future of the children and grandchildren of the community of Bayou Gauche and West St. Charles Parish. God blesses us because He's a good Father, and because He wants us to be a channel for His blessings! |
